R&A supports Emilian companies hit by recent earthquakes.

Aware of the enormous difficulties that the citizens of the areas of Emilia-Romagna affected by Recent Earthquakes live in these days, Roncuzzi & Associates (R & A) has decided to support the companies which operate in these areas by practicing them a 50% discount on professional fees for IP services.

In particular, it will be offered a reduced price for technical-legal and administrative activities aimed to file national and European patent, trademark and design applications.

Finanziamenti a fondo perduto per la registrazione di Marchi Comunitari ed internazionali

Il Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico ha stanziato un fondo di 4,5 Milioni di euro con lo scopo di sostenere le PMI italiane che vogliano potenziare la propria presenza nei mercati esteri mediante la registrazione di Marchi Comunitari e/o internazionali.

Su tale fondo, sarà possibile richiedere degli incentivi economici a fondo perduto per supportare fino all’80% dei costi sostenuti per le attività di registrazione svolte. L’importo massimo del finanziamento è di 4.000 € per ogni Marchio Comunitario e di 6.000 € per ogni Marchio Internazionale. Ogni azienda potrà richiedere più finanziamenti per un valore complessivo di 15.000 €.

I finanziamenti in oggetto potranno essere richiesti a partire dal 4 Settembre p.v. e saranno erogati secondo procedura a sportello, fino ad esaurimento dei fondi.

Roncuzzi & Associati receives 2011 Confindustria Excelsa Award

On the occasion of the 1st edition of Confindustria Ravenna Excelsa Award, Roncuzzi & Associati received the precious acknowledgement in the “Internationalization” category by jury chairman Prof. Giacomo Vaciago.

The Excelsa award was conceived by Confindustria within the project “Ravenna 2030” to highlight the excellences of the province of Ravenna. The competition comes under the motto “Excellence will change the world” and aims at acknowledgement of the social value of the enterprise and spotlight exemplary models. In particular, the Confindustria Ravenna Excelsa Award wants to focus on those enterprises that, even in the current macro-economic disadvantageous situation, have decided to invest by paying particular attention to human resources, business ethics and social commitment. The awards ceremony was held Friday, April 14 at the end of an interesting debate that has seen starring economist Oscar Giannino.

New Roncuzzi & Associati website

The structure of the new website has been reorganized to simplify navigation and so facilitate content access. Content has also been enriched to provide clearer and more detailed information. The new website is still under development and it is R&A’s intention to implement a series of online services to facilitate communication and information exchange with its clients, so as to meet both the needs of new clients approaching the subject of Industrial Property for the first time and those of long-standing partners.

R&A participates in the fourth edition of the “Guidarello Giovani” Prize

R&A takes part in the realization of the fourth edition of the “Guidarello Giovani” Prize, a journalism competition organised each year by the Ravenna branch of Confindustria (Confederation of Italian Industry) in collaboration with the Regional School Office and aimed at classes of the upper secondary schools in the Province of Ravenna.

To this end, R&A head office will open its doors to students from the fourth and fifth year classes at the Istituto Tecnico Statale Commerciale “Giuseppe Ginanni” (business and technical school) and the Liceo Artistico “Pier Luigi Nervi” (artistic high school) ofRavenna. The students participating in the competition will be shown the professional and working world of R&A and the people who work there and will be asked to write about this experience in a brief reportage.

The “Guidarello Giovani” Prize will be assigned by a panel that will assess all the reportages arriving from the various schools of theProvince of Ravenna that joined the initiative.

Changes to the Industrial Property Code

With the publication of Italian Law No. 99/2009 regarding “Provisions for the development and the internationalisation of enterprises and the energy sector.” in the Official Gazette No. 176 of 31/7/2009, the changes made by this law to the Penal Code and to the Industrial Property Code, previously adopted with Legislative Decree No. 30 of 10 February 2005, have become operative. In particular, amongst the main changes introduced into the penal code by Law No. 99/2009, it is appropriate to underline the increases in sanctions for the infringement of trade marks and counterfeiting goods. In addition, Law No. 99/2009 has modified Article 47 of the Industrial Property Code by introducing the so-called “internal priority”, or rather the possibility of filing an Italian patent application and claiming, within twelve months, the priority of an earlier national filing. Industrial Property Code Implementation Regulations

The Italian Ministry of Economic Development has recently announced final approval of regulations to implement the Industrial Property Code previously adopted with Legislative Decree No. 30 of 10 February 2005. The new regulations, published in Official Gazette No. 56 of 9 March 2010, are the result of long discussions between the competent offices of the Ministry of Economic Development and the representatives of the industrial property consultants, and adopt the disciplinary requirements for filing applications and petitions and the methods of applying regulations to the trade mark challenge process. The main innovation introduced by the regulations in question is precisely these implementation rules for the process of challenging the granting of national trade marks. Montenegro and EPO sign an extension agreement on European Patent protection

On 13 February, Montenegro and the European Patent Office (EPO) signed an extension agreement that will enter into force on 1st March 2010 and according to which all European and international patent applications shall be automatically extended to Montenegro. Alternatively, for patents granted or deriving from patent applications filed before 1st March 2010, it shall still be possible to enforce the extension and cooperation agreement signed between EPO and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which came into force in November 2004. The signing of the agreement between Montenegro and EPO brings the number of states in which it is possible to apply for the protection of industrial inventions by means of the European Patent to thirty nine.
